Specialist furniture logistics firm Andrew Porter has been appointed to handle warehousing and deliveries
for Dormeo’s new Octaspring mattress range.
The innovative Octaspring product has been on sale in the UK and Ireland for 18 months and the
manufacturer is projecting sales to soar. With unique, breathable memory foam springs, and no metal
components within, Octaspring combines the support of traditional sprung mattresses with the comfort of
memory foam technology, without any of the drawbacks.
Dormeo needed to outsource warehousing and logistics to a specialist provider, which had the size and
capacity to cope with growth demands in the coming months and years. Andrew Porter will provide stock
holding, route planning and white glove home deliveries throughout the UK and Ireland.
Andrew Porter has created a dedicated warehousing and assembly area for Octaspring in its North West
warehouse, MD Tim Aspey said.
“Octaspring is a high-end product which requires quality storage and handling techniques to ensure it
reaches the customer in pristine condition,” Tim explained.
“We have made significant investment in our facilities to ensure all of our stock is stored in clean,
dry, tidy conditions and is handled with care, using specialist equipment.”
The deliveries will be carried out using specially designed, co-branded vehicles.
John Bramm, MD of Dormeo UK, commented: “Octaspring has been a huge hit so far in the UK and Ireland and
we are busy getting the infrastructure in place to ensure we can keep up with customer demand. Octaspring
is a premium product, and every customer touchpoint must be of the very highest standard. The delivery
experience is key, so we needed the product to be in perfect condition, at the right place at the right
time, and with great people doing the physical delivery.”
Dormeo UK’s operation manager Robert Hetherington added: “Andrew Porter has greatly improved our stock
control and enabled us to reduce lead-time to customers. The company’s facilities and capabilities will
enable us to provide a high quality delivery service that will complement the quality of the Octaspring
brand.
“We are impressed with the facilities at Andrew Porter Limited, as well as their thorough industry
knowledge. The company has an excellent reputation and is already widely used by other major names
within the industry, so we are confident that our customers will receive the very best service when
ordering an Octaspring product.”
