The average budget that people are willing to spend on decorating a new home is as high as £5,270.

A general impression of furniture in this year' s cross-border e-commerce market is that it is difficult to make and the inventory is overstocked. A large-selling furniture factory in Fuzhou has a backlog of up to 200 containers. There is even more news in the industry that some furniture sellers went bankrupt.

However, the overseas market has ushered in a new turning point. eBay Ads releases statistics. In the next few weeks, the "Housewarming Fever" in the UK will start the next wave of Nuggets for sellers. The survey shows that a large number of people’ s regular savings are about to expire, and the stamp duty declaration cut-off point is very close. The market has smelled a wave of house purchases. According to survey statistics of interviewees, people are willing to spend on decorating new homes. The average budget is as high as £5270.

It is reported that eBay Ads launched a questionnaire survey of 500 British people who plan to move in the next six months. The results show that 54% of respondents will give priority to buying large furniture, and 53% said that home appliances are the "first productive force."

39% of the interviewees are looking for a house, and they would rather renovate the house than buy an existing well-decorated house; over 35% of the interviewees said that after moving to a new house, DIY products will be the first place on the purchase list rank; Nearly 19% of respondents believe that second-hand, refurbished or remodeled items will be the second-ranked purchase.

The eBay Ads survey shows that more than 56% of the respondents plan to move in the next 6 months. They said that during the epidemic, travel was restricted, and there was almost no way out of the door. There were fewer expenditure items, and naturally more balances. This means that when you move to a new home, you will choose a house with more rooms and a larger living area. Furniture that can meet the needs of large units will become the sales trend in the next few months.

In addition, September is already the final deadline after the postponement of stamp duty declarations. Searches related to Home and Furniture DIY categories will show a significant upward trend. Three days before the original deadline for stamp duty filing, that is, on March 28, the search volume for the three categories of eBay UK site Home and  Furniture DIY was 35% higher than the previous month. Throughout March, the total number of searches for more than 3 categories per second on the eBay UK site exceeded 81 times.

63% of the respondents believe that it will take at least 1 to 4 months to buy all the items needed for the new home, and 30% plan to spend 5 to 6 months. All these indicate that the sales bonus period for brands and sellers will be prolonged in the indecision of consumers.

Harmony Murphy, the general manager of eBay Ads in the UK, said that September will usher in the last wave of moving this year. When moving to a new home, whether it is the first or the Nth suite, there will only be enthusiasm for decorating a new home. Unabated, and this is an excellent market opportunity. Sellers should build momentum for products from the perspective of solving consumers' worries.

The problem of buyers needs to be solved, and the rental market cannot be ignored. Another study from eBay Ads found that many young people are moving towards “independence”: 25% of respondents aged 34 and below said they would end their “cohabitation” days with their parents, while those aged 16-24 Among the respondents, this number jumped to 37%.

Among the respondents aged 34 and below, 59% said they would like to move to a place where people smell of fireworks, that is, a city or a suburb. The social needs of young people are picking up as the epidemic eases. For those who are a little bit shy, renting will be the first choice. This wave of "urbanization" people will also further promote the demand for the home and furniture market.
