The Layer1 coffee table in the images below, designed by Luca Nichetto for Gallotti & Radice comes with an interesting wooden base, which can be adjusted to fit your needs. The overall design, seems quite simple but it’s also intriguing at the same time. We’re looking at a transparent glass top that’s placed on a wooden base that’s made of “superimposed conical rings.” The more rings you have, the higher the coffee table can become. Similarly, the more rings you take out from under that 12mm glass top, the lower the Layer1 gets. Just make sure you don’t break the glass in the process. As for those rings, you can order them in ash, wengé stained or white, black, saffron yellow, sand or chestnut open pore lacquer.
