That’s right, the Lean need a corner to stand in an up right position, which limits its usage as an actual chair. On the other hand the Lean can certainly act as a modern coffee table or storage solution, in case you want to move it away from the corners. But the Lean was conceived “to bring purpose to a universally under-utilized space; the corner” so that’s where you should use it in case you already plan to getting it.
