The ASEAN Furniture Inds. Council has announced the dates of six furniture shows in Southeast Asia as part of a strategy to better promote the region's trade show circuit.
The shows include the Export Furniture Exhibition Malaysia, which runs March 5-8 in Kuala Lumpur; the Vietnam International Furniture & Home Accessories Fair, which runs from March 11-14 in Ho Chi Minh City; the Thailand International Furniture Fair, which runs March 12-16 in Bangkok; the International Fair Singapore, which runs March 13-16; the International Furniture & Craft Fair Indonesia, which runs March 14-17 in Jakarta and the Philippine International Furniture Show, which runs March 14-17 in Manila.
The AFIC was formed in 1978 as a regional trade organization that promotes the interests of the ASEAN furniture industry. According to its website, it includes members that represent the furniture sectors of each ASEAN country and that are certified by their respective industries and Chamber of Commerce.
For 2014, the group is taking a more active role by marketing the show circuit under the theme "Great ASEAN Design Starts Here - Six cities. Two weeks. One destination for design."
