Green product on tap at Thailand International Furniture Fair
BANGKOK, Thailand — The next Thailand International Furniture Fair will continue to bolster the Thailand industry's strengths in the realm of "green" furniture.
This chair, made by Thailand-based manufacturer Performax Co. Ltd. from woven water hyacinth, will be among the products shown at the next Thailand International Furniture Fair in March.
The March 14-18 event will tout the use of sustainable materials in a variety of categories ranging from bedroom and dining room furniture to living room and office furniture.
Among the highlights of the show will be a display by of ecologically friendly furniture by leading Thai companies as well as the fourth annual "Waste to Wealth" exhibit, showcasing how a multitude of waste materials can be used in furniture and home accents.
The 2012 exhibit will take place at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center in Bangkok. It will feature more than 220 manufacturers showcasing product in about 300,000 square feet of exhibit space.
The event is open to the trade March 14-16 and is open to the public March 17-18.
Thailand's Department of Export Promotion is organizing the event in collaboration with the Furniture Industry Club, the Federation of Thai Industries and the Thai Furniture Industry Assn.
