WALNUT CREEK, Ohio — More than 100 furniture makers from Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Michigan will exhibit at the Ohio Hardwood Furniture Market, set for March 2-3 at the Holmes County Expo Center here.

Domestically made hardwood furniture, much of it made by Amish craftsmen, will be shown in 95,000 square feet. More than 1,100 retailers from the U.S. Midwest and Canada are expected to attend.

Two seminars are on tap during the market:

+ John West, on the board of directors for the Color Marketing Group, will discuss color trends. New finish and stain colors are expected to be highlights of the market.

+ A session called Forest to Furniture will feature a panel of local specialists discussing how they make hardwood furniture, including the reforestation efforts business owners are taking to ensure long-term viability.

In addition, a pre-show seminar on the uses and sustainability of eucalyptus wood is set for Tuesday, March 1, at 2:30 p.m.

Registered market attendees can attend all seminars for free, and also can dine free at the Expo Center's café, with all donated proceeds going to special education in Holmes County's Amish schools.
