DOC rescinds 2009 antidumping review for 171 Chinese wood bedroom makers

As part of the ongoing antidumping issue, the U.S. Department of Commerce said on Thursday that it has agreed not to perform an annual administrative review of 2009 shipments for 171 Chinese wood bedroom manufacturers.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — As part of the ongoing antidumping issue, the U.S. Department of Commerce said on Thursday that it has agreed not to perform an annual administrative review of 2009 shipments for 171 Chinese wood bedroom manufacturers.

In January the DOC opened a period for furniture companies involved in the antidumping matter to request a review.

The review determines whether the duty rates assigned to Chinese producers for their 2009 wood bedroom furniture shipments need to be adjusted. These rates are paid by companies that import the goods to the U.S.

The list of companies that will not now be reviewed include:

The DOC said that the duty rate for most of these companies will remain the same as their initial cash deposit rate in place at the time of their shipments. In many cases, the rate was 7.24%.

The following companies have been assessed at the All-China rate of 216%. The DOC will determine whether to keep this rate in place once the 2009 review has been completed.
