“Hunan Commodity Fair and Office Furniture and Equipment Asia Exhibitions” kicked off from October 9 at Karachi Expo Centre.

Over 100 companies from China were expected to participate in the fair where they would identify local agents and distributors for their wares. Around 80 Chinese companies seeking investment in Pakistan were also expected to set up their stalls.

High profile government officials from province of Hunan (birth place of legendary Chinese leader Mao Zedong) also attended expo. During the visit the Chinese delegation also meeted office bearers of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry for investment opportunities in China Pakistan Economic Corridor projects.

At Hunan Commodity Exhibition, companies have displayed advanced equipment of agriculture, construction, chemicals, fiber optic, hydropower, hydro turbine besides heavy duty machinery and other latest technology. Business to Business (B2B) meetings of Chinese investors with local partners have also be conducted at the fair. Both exhibitions have be organised by E-Commerce Gateway Pakistan.

E-Commerce vice president UmairNizamsaid that due to proactive approach of present government a high level delegation from Hunan Province, China also was attending the exhibition. He said that this delegation would also visit various parts of country related to CPEC and One Belt and Road.

He also said that these exhibitions have also been supported by Investment Board, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Karachi Chamber, Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chinese government.
