HIGH POINT — Furniture/Today is partnering with the Seena Magowitz Golf Classic at its upcoming Bedding Conference, set for May 14-16 at the Omni Orlando Resort in Championsgate, Fla.

The Magowitz event, which has raised millions of dollars for the fight against pancreatic cancer, is moving its event from its traditional December dates in Phoenix to join Furniture/Today at the Omni Orlando Resort in May. The Magowitz event will be held May 16-17.

The Furniture/Today Bedding Conference begins on Wednesday, May 14, continues with all-day sessions and a gala dinner on Thursday, May 15, and wraps up shortly before noon on Friday, May 16.

The Seena Magowitz Golf Classic will host a dinner at the Omni that Friday evening to welcome its attendees and to present an overview of its efforts to raise funds to support pancreatic cancer research.

The following morning, the Seena Magowitz Golf Classic will get under way at the Omni Orlando Resort.

"We are excited to be able to coordinate our calendars and events with Furniture/Today at the Omni Orlando Resort in May," said Roger Magowitz, executive director of the Mattress Firm Foundation and the founder of the Seena Magowitz Golf Classic. "We have wanted to partner with Furniture/Today for some time, and are pleased we can join forces this May with the Bedding Conference, which draws key figures from all sectors of the mattress industry."

Magowitz said Bedding Conference attendees need to add just one night to their stay - Friday night - to attend all of the events offered by the Seena Magowitz Golf Classic.

Plans call for joining the Bedding Conference and the Seena Magowitz Golf Classic each year. There will be no Seena Magowitz Golf Classic in December of this year, officials said.

"The mattress industry has been a major supporter of our golf event for many years," Magowitz said. "By running our event immediately following the close of the Bedding Conference we are making it easier for mattress industry leaders to attend our event. We believe that the combination of the Bedding Conference and the Seena Magowitz Golf Classic will strengthen both events and give industry attendees a compelling opportunity to gain business-building perspectives at the conference and to support the ongoing fight against pancreatic cancer at the golf classic events."
