Furniture China 2013 will take place between 11-15th September in Shanghai. A wide range of furniture products and supplies will be displayed by category over three venues with a total exhibition space of 800,000 sqm. This includes home furniture, office furniture, furnishings and Design of Designers (DoD) at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) and JSWB global home furnishing centre, as well as woodworking machinery and raw materials at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center (SWEECC).

Dedicated to bringing visitors inspirational furniture design, Furniture China endeavours to elevate exhibition excellence and service quality, aiming to provide global furniture traders with one-stop experience throughout the fair.

The exhibition will feature not only noted domestic Chinese companies, but also many overseas enterprises and individual brands. There will be up to eight international pavilions participating in Furniture China 2013, including delegations from France, the Puglia region of Italy, Belgium, Spain, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.

Design is set to be a prominent element. Along with the expansion of its scale, Design Hall, W5, and half of hall W4 will attract numerous design-led furniture companies all over the globe. DoD – held in halls N6A and N6B – will comprise a series of design-associated activities, including: a mocked-up room featuring furniture and interior design trends from several Chinese leading interior designers; Design Forum, a three-day forum consisting of seminars and dialogues on specific topics; and Deco Café, a 200m2 destination created by a guest designer.

Furniture China aims to introduce over 300 talented designers to visitors, helping bring China’s original design to the world. The DoD platform enhances interaction between designers and furniture manufacturers.

Other highlights lay within the outdoor tents this year. Together with the 17 existing exhibition halls at SNIEC, Furniture China 2013 will expand its capacity to encompass 20 outdoor pavilions in the main square. Products ranging from upholstery, tables and chairs, children’s furniture and contemporary furniture to furnishings and office furniture will be displayed in categorised groups.

The concurrent Office Furniture China 2013 and Home Furnishing China 2013 events will add further flavour to the show. The former will present The Techno-Experience, an exploration of how technology transforms the office and the way we work, while the latter will display variety products including overall home decoration, decorative lighting, paintings and flowers, fabrics and carpet.

The newly enhanced mobile app for Furniture China 2013 – available to download from the event website – boasts many visitor-friendly features, providing a showguide and onsite assistance.
