This summer, Furniture Village has teamed up with UK charity Anthony Nolan which helps save the lives of people suffering with blood cancer, on their ‘Sofa of Change’ initiative. Each of the 39 branches now have sofa-shaped collection boxes next to the complimentary refreshment area, and customers are invited to make a donation to the pioneering charity whilst enjoying tea, coffee and cookies in store.
A recent study by Halifax Savings revealed that an estimated total of £42.9 million pounds has been found down the backs of UK sofas, and as such, Furniture Village is appealing for customers to donate any spare change that may or may not have been retrieved from beneath the cushions of their sofa.
Navinder Thaliwal, spokesperson for Furniture Village, comments, “Furniture Village is delighted to be supporting the ‘Sofa of Change’ initiative in all of its branches across the UK. Peter Harrison, Chairman of Furniture Village has been a trustee of Anthony Nolan since 2007, and we are pleased to be further involved in the life-altering work carried out by the charity.”
