AHFA suppliers raise $19,000 for scholarship program
The Suppliers Division of the American Home Furnishings Alliance raised about $19,000 in scholarship funds in a golf tournament last month.
The Suppliers Division of the American Home Furnishings Alliance raised about $19,000 in scholarship funds in a golf tournament last month.
The tourney at Lake Hickory Country Club in Hickory, N.C., drew 19 teams of participants.
The tournament raised money to help endow six $2,000 annual scholarships that are available to children of employees of AHFA member companies. The scholarships are distributed based on financial need and academic merit. More than 80 scholarships have been awarded by Suppliers Division since 2000.
The team of Lanny Jarrell, Ray Smith and Doug Collamer of Wright Global Graphic Solutions and Craig Stroup of Merrimac Textiles won the tournament.
Platinum tournament sponsors included HSM Solutions (formerly Hickory Springs), Leggett & Platt and NCFI Polyurethanes. Gold sponsors were Wright Global Graphic Solutions and Harlee Packaging, and silver sponsors were RPM Wood Finishes and OTR Fuel Consulting.
