China's booming economy is outstripping all estimates. Officials have confirmed the rate of growth hit 11.9% in the first three months of the year.

The rate of growth is the fastest in almost three years. Much of the growth is down to China's massive government stimulus measures - but consumer spending is also a major factor. The figure will raise fears, though, that China's economy is overheating.
