The second quarter analysis of the European smart home market is released, Amazon tops the list

In the second quarter of this year, the cross-border e-commerce giant Amazon was in a leading position in the European smart home equipment market.
Recently, the United States International Data Corporation (IDC), which specializes in market research, analysis and consulting, released a research report on the European smart home market in the second quarter of this year.
The report shows that the European smart home market in the second quarter of 2021 increased by 23.8% compared to the same period in 2020. From April to June, European smart home equipment shipments exceeded 24 million units.
Antonio Arantes, Senior Research Analyst for Smart Home Devices in Western Europe, said: "This is the second consecutive quarter that the European smart home market has grown by more than 20%. This marks the European smart home market has recovered from its worst performance since the first half of 2020. Thanks to the good performance of smart speakers and digital media adapter products, Amazon has regained the top spot in European smart homes."
Specifically, Amazon shipped more than 3.89 million units in the second quarter, accounting for 16% of the European market. It is closely followed by Google, which shipped more than 3.11 million units in the second quarter, accounting for 12.8% of the European market. It was followed by Samsung, which shipped more than 2.5 million units in the second quarter, accounting for 10.3% of the European market. This was followed by LG Electronics, which shipped 2.11 million units in the second quarter, accounting for 8.7% of the European market. Ranked fifth is China' s Hisense, which shipped more than 1.21 million units in the second quarter, accounting for 5.0% of the European market.
It can be seen that the smart home devices of the United States and South Korea account for half of the European smart home device market.

Jan Prenosil, senior research analyst for smart home devices in Central and Eastern Europe, said, "In the second quarter of 2021, the entire smart home device market in Central and Eastern Europe grew by 29.1%. Among them, the lighting product category recorded the largest increase in this quarter. But , video entertainment equipment still ranks first."
In terms of specific smart home equipment, in the second quarter, shipments of video entertainment equipment to Europe exceeded 44.7 million units, accounting for 41.8% of the market share. Followed by smart speakers, more than 29.4 million units shipped to Europe, accounting for 27.5% of the market share.
According to the report, IDC predicts that there will be more than 203 million smart home devices in Europe by 2025, with a compound annual growth rate of 13.28% from 2021 to 2025.
