Infusion of Japanese Design Elements, the Official Opening of First Apple Store in Kyoto

Inspired by Japanese lanterns, the exterior design is constructed with a translucent envelope shape to form the upper façade.

Apple's first Apple Store in Kyoto, Japan, officially opened recently.

The new branch is located in Shijo-dori, and there are famous shrines such as Yasaka Shrine and Matsuo Taisha. The new store is also rich in Japanese traditional elements. The exterior design is inspired by Japanese lanterns and is constructed in the shape of a translucent envelope. The upper façade is based on the traditional Japanese architectural design, combined with light wooden frames and special paper, naturally blending into the ancient capital of Kyoto.

As early as 2003, Apple opened its first retail store outside of the United States in Tokyo. This time, the Kyoto branch is just one step in the expansion of the brand in Japan. In the end, there will be many new stores with the same design sense. This is really worth our expectation.
