Covering 350,000 sqm with 3,500 exhibitors, 220 international brands, 129 design brands and over 50 famous designers, the four-day exhibition is poised to set new trends across the areas of furniture, home décor, design and lifestyle through a powerful line-up furniture and design events throughout Shanghai.

National Pavilions, International Brands and Contemporary Furniture Halls to Provide an Array of Top Quality Products

Furniture China features a number of national pavilions including Italian Veneto, France, Belgium, South Korea, Turkey and Malaysia, which have been hugely popular in the past years. International brands from 24 countries are keen to showcase top quality and novel products to global buyers.

This year, 14 new international brands make their debut, including Norwegian Nordic, German Quadrato, DECOART Dubai, Singaporean Commune, and more. Together with the return of North American furniture giant Ashley, who has a strong influence in the Middle East and South America, Furniture China has firmly established itself as leading business hub for global furniture trade.

Exhibitors of contemporary furniture account for about one-third of exhibitors at Furniture China. With many new brands from home and overseas participating this year, the contemporary furniture section covers over 46,000 sqm floor space. Halls E5, E6 and E7 are the Design Halls, which showcase creative furniture products from more than 150 suppliers to inspire the modern home designers.

FMC and FMP to Lead the Trends in High-End Manufacturing

As an event that covers the entire value chain of the furniture industry, Furniture China again stages two co-located events, Furniture Manufacturing & Supply China (FMC) and FMC Premium (FMP), to meet the sourcing needs of furniture manufacturers.

With more than 200 exhibitors, FMC Premium (FMP) focuses on premium quality raw materials, semi-finished components, machinery, equipment and other furniture supplies. Environment-friendly and green materials are the highlights for manufacturing, designers and engineers alike.

FMP also welcomes five national exhibitor groups: AHEC, French Timber, Swedish Wood, KFFIC and QWEB. With more than 30 exhibiting companies, AHEC is taking up 10% more space than last year. Swedish Wood, along with its 10 members, presents more than 30 pieces of Swedish-designed furniture items made of Swedish red pine. On the other hand, the domestic Furen Group is bringing a group of companies to display their unique timber products and timber process technology both at home and abroad.

COLOR OF FURNITURE: An Interpretation on Color Code

First introduced in 2017, the COLOR OF FURNITURE is a thematic event at Furniture China which aims to sketch the market prospects of new furniture products. This year, the theme is “Decoding of Colors” and there are three major components for this special program: an exhibition, a forum and a report.

The COLOR OF FURNITURE exhibition is co-curated by Prof. Song Jianming, Director of Color Institute of China Academy of Art, and eminent designers Mr. Lu Tao and Ms. Di Yin. It aims at creating an immersive experience for visitors through sound, lighting and other interactive components. There will be 8 showrooms in distinctive color schemes in Hall E8B-D60, which represent its four themes of “Blooming, Growth, Maturity, Regression” to demonstrate future color trends for China’s home furnishing industry in the next three to five years.

Famous designers and researchers of color will deliver presentations at the forum to impart their expert knowledge on color and furniture design to visitors. A special report co-produced by global authorities on color will also be released. The report summarizes the research and analysis on current changes in color and lifestyle, as it seeks to construct and lead the future for the Chinese furniture industry.
