Starbucks, Amazon to Speak at Fourth Annual Smart Kitchen Summit

Food waste and voice- and AI-powered interfaces will be among the topics discussed

How the kitchen is evolving with smart home technology will continue to be explored at the fourth annual Smart Kitchen Summit in October.

 

 

To be held Oct. 8-9 at Benaroya Hall here, the summit will include presentations on the latest in food technology, including voice and AI-powered interfaces, as well as issues such as food waste.

 

Scheduled presentations include “Leave The Lunch Box Behind: How Tech Is Changing How We Eat At Work,” with Deepak Sekar of Chowbotics and Michele Smart of EZCater; “Building An Innovation Culture @ Starbucks,” with Ben Pote, head of culinary innovation, Starbucks; “Rethinking Interfaces: Exploring Voice and AI-Powered Interfaces For The Kitchen,” with Stacey Higginbotham of IoT Podcast, Shelby Bonnie of Pylon AI and Zach Pace of Amazon; and “New Brew: Innovation Percolation In The Coffee Space,” with Cynthia Yeung of Cafe X.

 

In addition, Top Chef star, chef and restaurateur Richard Blais will discuss food technology in a presentation.

 

Michael Wolf, the founder of both SKS and research and advisory firm NextMarket Insights, will host the summit.
