MUJI Converted Juvenile Prison into MUJI HOSTEL, Bringing You a Novelty Experience

MUJI planned it as a comfortable and simple MUJI HOSTEL, which was not expensive.

The Nara Youth Prison in Japan has recently been converted into a modern HOTEL. In addition to its super-high topicality, the brand that has been stationed has also made fans feel excited, including the Japanese lifestyle brand MUJI.

The Nara Youth Prison has a 110-year history and its architectural style is Roman-style. By 2016, the Nara Youth Prison will no longer be used as a prison and will be listed as an important national cultural asset in the next year. The building itself has five outwardly extending buildings, and three hotel brands will be stationed there, and three different styles of HOSTEL / HOTEL will be planned. SOLARE HOTELS & RESORTS will open three cells into one room for a total of 150 rooms. There are 80 rooms in the rear single-family building.

The part that MUJI is responsible for is the original medical building. MUJI plans it as a comfortable and simple MUJI HOSTEL. There are 60 beds in total, and it is quite close to the people in terms of accommodation costs. One night is 10,000 yen. The Nara Prison Hotel will open between April 2020 and March 2021. In addition to the rooms, there are restaurants, bars, spa facilities, history museums, and a MUJI store.
