Manwah Holdings Acquired Delancey Mfg., a Chinese Manufacturer of OEM Upholstery

Delancey will have a dedicated showroom at the October High Point Market, the location of which will be announced soon.

Upholstery and motion furniture major Manwah Holdings has acquired Delancey Mfg., a Chinese manufacturer of OEM upholstery. The price of the transaction was not disclosed.

Effective immediately, Grey Hunsucker has been named president of this new division. In this new role Hunsucker reports to Guy Ray, CEO of Manwah USA.

Ray said the Delancey acquisition provides additional capacity for motion upholstery targeting to the OEM channel with an already-proven factory.

Delancey has dealt with major industry brands that are importing motion goods from China. Its OEM factory has more than 1 million square feet of manufacturing space with the opportunity for furniture expansion. The factory today employs more than 800 employees and has the capacity of up to 600 containers per month.

“This new division will continue to be dedicated to the OEM export market,” Hunsucker said. “The new ownership will provide the investment needed to expand this business and build upon a very strong foundation.”

“We will invest in new and updated equipment focusing on greater efficiencies," said Manwah Holdings Chairman Wong Man Li. “Additionally, we will invest in the operations of the company to better service the customers and future customers of Delancey.”

Ray added that Hunsucker has proven himself to be an outstanding talent.

“His strength in products and customer service will serve him well in leading this new division,” Ray said.

Delancey will have a dedicated showroom at the October High Point Market, the location of which will be announced soon.
