Big Lots is recalling 14,000 ottomans that can pose a fall hazard, the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission recently announced.
The CPSC said that the Wilson and Fisher brand Cayman resin wicker ottoman can collapse at the center during normal use.
The agency noted that Big Lots has received 19 reports of consumers falling through the center of the units and said that there have been six reported minor injuries such as back strain, scratches, bruises or contusions.
Made in China, the ottomans are part of a six-piece Cayman resin wicker seating set. They were sold in Big Lots stores nationwide from February 2014 through March 2014 for about $320 for all six pieces.
The ottomans feature a dark brown resin wicker and cream colored cushions. The other pieces, which include two chairs, a sofa and a table, are not being recalled.
The CPSC has advised consumers to stop using the recalled ottomans and return them for a $50 refund.
