Spending on home remodels helped Home Depot achieve the highest quarterly sales and net earnings results in company history during Q2.
For the quarter ended July 31, the home improvement retailer’s sales climbed 6.6% to $26.5 billion. Total same-store sales rose 4.7%, with U.S. comp up 5.4%.
Net earnings increased 9.3% to $2.4 billion, or $1.97 per share.
Confident in the trend continuing, Home Depot raised its earnings-per-share guidance for the full fiscal year and now expects EPS to jump approximately 15.6% to $6.31.
