Customatic Adjustable Bedz has expanded its Taiwan, China manufacturing facility with the addition of a 70,000- square-foot mezzanine level that features a number of new manufacturing technologies designed to improve quality control and efficiency and to streamline assembly procedures, officials said.

This is the third expansion for its Taiwan, China plant in recent years, bringing total square footage to 300,000 and employment to 230.
The company last expanded in 2012, when a 120,000-square-foot addition delivered expanded corporate offices, a cut-and-sew textile department and room for robotic welding machinery, an internal powder-coating system with enhanced finish options and more dedicated assembly lines to increase productivity, officials said.
“The adjustable base category is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the sleep products industry right now as consumers of all ages are beginning to embrace the benefits of this technology,” said Phil Sherman, a partner in Customatic Adjustable Bedz. “We are expanding in order to meet the growing needs of our customers and get product to them much more efficiently. These factory updates aid us in more readily phasing in bigger and better product innovations. Customatic Adjustable Bedz, a supplier of adjustable bed bases, mattresses and pillows, was founded in 2010 by industry veterans Phil McCarty and Phil Sherman. The company distributes products nationally through partnerships with top-name mattress manufacturers, leading domestic distributors and major furniture and specialty sleep retailers, officials said.
