China becomes the third furniture importing source of Czech

The top three furniture importing sources of Czech include: Poland (27.2%), Germany (17.9%) and China (17.4%).

As reported by Czech News Agency on March 17, the Association of Czech Furniture Manufacturers (ACN) announced that the furniture production value of Czech in 2015 reached CZK 43.55 billion (equal to about USD 1.8 billion), exceeding the historic record of CZK 41.65 billion before the economic crisis in 2007. 

 

Czech has always been the furniture net exporter in recent years. In 2015, the furniture export value amounted to CZK 24.63 billion (equal to about USD 1 billion), the import value reached CZK 15.75 billion (equal to USD about 0.65 billion). The largest three furniture exporting markets of Czech include: Germany (29.3%), Slovakia (9.3%) and France (5.9%), and the top three furniture importing sources include: Poland (27.2%), Germany (17.9%) and China (17.4%). 

 

According to ACN, currently, Czech mainly exports costly furniture with higher value added, and import the low-end furniture for retail chain. Despite the strong growth momentum of furniture import from China, Poland is supposed to be the top furniture importing source of Czech in the incoming years.
