Designers take Pinnacle Awards in 17 categories

Designers Chris Bergelin and Thad Bergelin won the ASFD Pinnacle Award for major collections at a gala event here last night, for their Mesa Collection for Century Furniture.
The American Society of Furniture Designers presented awards in 17 categories, including a new student honor, at the annual Pinnacles banquet.
Commenting on the winning collection, Pinnacle judges said, “The multitude of different looks in the Mesa Collection by Century Furniture is the perfect answer to eclectic style. The pieces stand alone as well as together. This is an invitingly livable group with outstanding texture in the finishes.”
The Student Award went to Rebecca Goddard of Appalachian State University for her Anova Side Table. Judges said, “This original design by Appalachian State University student Rebecca Goddard is reminiscent of wind chimes that make us feel happy. The continuous flow of wood is a thoughtful detail in the waterfall edge. With the high caliber of student entries, there is tremendous hope for the future of outstanding furniture design!”
