It will take at least a year for the supply of custom leather furniture to return to normal.

Recently, Carolina Custom Leather, an American custom leather furniture supplier, said that in June this year, the best-performing June in the company' s history, orders were 10 times that of two to three years ago.

Davey Cartner, the chief tailor of Carolina Custom Leather, said: "Many product orders are ten times the number two or three years ago."

Thanks to the recent surge in orders, the sales of custom leather furniture companies like Carolina Custom Leather have at least doubled.

The company’ s boss, Todd Stroud, said: “The past June was the best June for the company.”

He also said that demand for furniture far exceeds supply. The main reason is that more people stayed at home during the epidemic. And industry experts said that the consumption stimulus funds issued earlier may also promote furniture sales.

"When the order business grows at such a rapid rate, it will definitely put pressure on supply." Stroud said.

The company’ s products originally took an average of 2 months to be delivered, but now it takes nearly 6 months to be delivered. It is expected that similar situations will occur in all industries.

Jerry Epperson, managing director of Mann, Armistead & Epperson, a furniture industry investment bank, said: "New orders in the industry have increased by an average of 30%, but shipments have only increased by 6% or 7%."

After analyzing the furniture industry for 50 years, he said that the problem of a shortage of bubbles caused by bad weather at the beginning of the year still exists.

"In those two months, the foam factory' s production capacity was very low, basically only 30-40%."

Epperson said that custom furniture shipments from overseas have also been delayed at US ports, and it is possible that imported custom furniture may not be available for a long time.

He predicts that it will take at least a year for the supply of custom leather furniture to return to normal.
