China's exports of furniture and home appliances continued to grow.

The current overseas real estate boom, represented by the United States, is becoming the main driving force for China’s exports. This is especially reflected in China’s export structure: since October last year, the export growth rate of China' s home appliances, furniture and other real estate chain products has begun to exceed the export of epidemic prevention materials, supporting the continuous high growth of China’s exports, and this phenomenon is still happening so far.

The strong export of real estate chain products at the macro level is also reflected at the micro enterprise level. According to statistics, among A-share listed companies whose main businesses are related to the export of the real estate chain, most home appliance and furniture companies'  overseas revenue growth rate in 2020 is higher than their overall revenue growth rate, that is, these companies mainly rely on overseas markets to achieve profitability.

The largest exporter of home appliances and furniture in our country is the United States. In 2019, our country’s exports of electrical products to the United States accounted for 16%, far exceeding South Korea (6%), Japan (5%) and other countries; exports of furniture products to the United States accounted for 28%, far surpassing Japan (5%) and the United Kingdom ( 5%) and other countries.

At the same time, from the perspective of the US import structure, home appliances and furniture products are also the product categories that the US has the highest degree of dependence on China's imports. The United States imports more than 50% of China's lighting equipment and audio equipment, and imports nearly 40% of its furniture. It can be seen that the import demand of the US real estate chain is very important to the export of China's home appliances and furniture.

Historically, US existing home sales are ahead of China's home appliances and furniture exports by about 6 months, that is, strong real estate sales in the US will bring about an expansion of demand for home appliances and furniture products, which will drive China's exports of related products.

From a micro level, this leadership is also reflected in the overseas income of listed home appliances and furniture companies. That is, in the second year of booming real estate sales in the United States, the overseas income of domestic home appliance and furniture companies tends to achieve good growth. It has been reflected in the financial reports of listed companies in home appliances and home furnishings.
