Malaysia becomes the ninth largest furniture exporter in the world

Benefiting from the Sino-U.S. Trade war, Malaysia's furniture exports to the United States have increased this year.

In recent years, Malaysia's furniture industry has continued to increase demand in foreign markets, and has now become the ninth largest furniture exporter in the world.

 

 

Datuk Mohamad Rashid, the deputy speaker of the lower house of the Malaysian parliament, recently pointed out that furniture production is no longer limited to wooden materials, and has developed into industries using various high-quality materials and focusing on the improvement of consumers' experience.

 

"Many large foreign furniture companies will update their furniture design according to the season, and also make furniture more functional in storage and use. Local manufacturers should follow suit to improve the quality and sales of home-made furniture." He added.

 

 

Mohamad Rashid also pointed out that the current development of Malaysia's furniture industry in Johor is far ahead of other states. Among them, the world-famous Muar furniture production area accounts for more than 60% of the country's total exports, and Batu Pahat is closely behind.
 
He also revealed that the Malaysian government will further discuss the feasibility of establishing a Batu Pahat furniture industrial park in the region to assist furniture industry to further promote the development of the furniture industry.
