Art Van Furniture will open its 15th Chicagoland store in the far north suburb of Gurnee, Ill., Saturday, one of two Illinois locations celebrating grand openings over the weekend.

The Top 100 company will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:45 a.m. Saturday for the 30,000-square-foot corporate-owned showroom at 6911 W. Grand Ave. As part of its community outreach, the 188-store, Warren, Mich.-based Art Van will make a $2,500 donation to the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
Art Van also recently announced the grand opening of 15,000-square-foot franchise location in E. Peoria, Ill., operated by Mike and Sheila Bruegge, who also operated Ashley HomeStores in central Illinois.
In Gurnee, the new store will feature Art Van PureSleep and Detroit Sofa Co. galleries and carry brands such as Cindy Crawford and La-Z-Boy among others. Grand opening festivities will include music, refreshments, face painting and a chance to win a $5,000 shopping spree.
“Art Van has been welcomed and woven into the fabric of more than a dozen Chicagoland cities during the past three years,” Barry Davidson, vice president and general manager of Art Van Furniture in Chicagoland, said in a release.
“We look forward to providing our Gurnee guests with our special brand of customer-focused service to help them enhance, update and beautify their homes.”
