BEIJING — HC28, a high-end manufacturer of contemporary furniture based here, will debut in the American market at the April High Point Market.

Identified as a collective of designers under the helm of founder Jianwei Li and Creative Director Francois Champsaur, the company’s design aesthetic merges European influence with Asian sensibility. Founded in 2006, HC28 is priced at mid-to-high level targeting hospitality and residential settings.

The Emma sofa fuses mid-century and contemporary elements with rounded wooden panels surrounding a fully cushioned and upholstered interior. Designed by Francois Champsaur, Emma is available as a chair, two-seat, or three-seat sofa.

“Our innovative contemporary design aesthetic is fresh and warm by interplaying different cultures,” said Champsaur. “There isn’t one dominant cultural element. Instead, they all work in harmony to create a poetic and sculptural design line.”

The company will make its U.S. launch in EJ Victor’s showroom at 116 S. Lindsay St.

Showcasing pieces from each of its 10-designer collection, HC28 will feature a comprehensive mix of sofas, accent seating and tables, case goods, beds, lighting, accessories, and rugs.

The company already has a strong retail presence across Asia, the Middle East and Europe, opening its first stores in Paris and Beijing in 2007.

Asian distribution includes locations in China, Turkey, Taiwan, China, Singapore and the Philippines; Egypt and Morocco in Africa; Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Kuwait in the Middle East; as well as Australia.

Working with another high-end furniture manufacturer, EJ Victor, HC28 hopes to establish itself in retail stores initially through EJ Victor’s distribution network and sales team.

“HC28’s vision is to offer good design and quality furniture that everyone can have in their homes,” said Li. “We recognize that the U.S. is the most important market for consumer goods and that the industry is growing vastly there.”
