GREENSBORO, N.C. — Bedding producer Kingsdown has dropped its patent infringement suit against XSensor after the two companies reached an out-of-court settlement.

As part of the settlement, XSensor also dropped its counter-suit. Both actions were filed in U.S. District Court in Greensboro.

Kingsdown and XSensor each have developed pressure-mapping technology that is sold to mattress retailers, and in a suit filed last July, Kingsdown claimed XSensor’s Reveal sleep diagnostic system infringes on a patent issued for Kingsdown’s bedMatch diagnostic system.

Other terms of the settlement were not disclosed, but court documents say that each side has agreed to pay its own legal fees and expenses.
