Top 15 bedding producer Kingsdown has added three branded stores in Beijing as part of its licensing agreement with Hong Kong, China-based Roth Bedding Technology.

The most recent additions bring the total to 83 branded stores in 58 Chinese cities – six of them in Beijing – for the Mebane, N.C.-based mattress maker. The stores are part of a plan to open 500 stores throughout China by 2020, according to Kingsdown.

Kingsdown said it plans to open 500 stores throughout China.

“The Chinese consumer is attracted to our more luxurious offerings and has helped position Kingsdown at the higher end of the market in the country,” said Frank Hood, president and CEO. “We continue to grow our market share with China’s luxury mattress consumer through our strategic plan and partnership with Roth.”

The partnership with Roth began in 2015. Two other Kingsdown branded stores with Roth are located in Changzhou and Xianyang.

The retail stores sell the standard product lineup, along with products designed and developed specifically for the Chinese marketplace.
