The 11th Dubai Wood Show 2016 will showcase exquisite wood and woodworking material. The largest trade fair for wood products in the Middle East will take place from April 4 to 6.

This year Turkey and India will participate in addition to last year’s seven national pavilions – USA, Spain, France, Malaysia, Sweden, Canada, and China. This expansion is expected to boost the show’s growth from last year’s record growth of 33%.

“Dubai WoodShow allows customers in the Middle East to have access to wood products and accessories of topmost quality. Our distinct advantage is the new product launches that will use the exhibition floor to target the regional market,” said Dawood Al Shezawi, CEO, Strategic Marketing & Exhibitions, organiser of the Dubai Wood Show. “We have succeeded in creating an ideal meeting platform to attract quality visitors, facilitate meeting with new business contacts, increase branding exposure, help establishing business in a new market, and support networking opportunities through this world-class exhibition.”

Innovations in timber industry are set to be the highlight of the show, where industry experts from around the world will participate. Visitors will be updated on key innovations related to wood processing, such as mortising, tenoning, treenailing, beveling, gluing, and intricate joining and inlaying.

The UAE imported approximately 412,400 m³ of softwood lumber from Europe and North America between January and July 2015, according to a recent Woodstat industry report.

Romania was the largest softwood exporter with a volume of 233,000 m³, while Germany came second at 101,000 m³. The collective exports of Austria, Russia, Canada and Ukraine amounted to 78,000 m³ of softwood lumber.

The last Show saw a 30% increase in visitors from the GCC region, with countries like Saudi Arabia, India, Pakistan, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Iran, Kuwait, and China featured in the top 10 list.
