Introducing Good Thing, a manufacturer of small products and accessories based in Brooklyn, New York. Good Thing produces objects that are minimal, considered and expressive by pairing the talent of America's most innovative young designers with domestic vendors.

Jamie Wolfond (RISD BFA /13) founded Good Thing to meet the challenge of producing inexpensive products locally. Jamie has a great track record for finding original ways of bridging the gap between design and production, and with the help of several New York-based artists and designers, has expanded his operation by developing a collection of astoundingly simple-to-produce products.

While more and more design studios are producing their work in-house or in collaboration with local trades, it seems as though making the goods affordably and making them here are mutually exclusive. "Rather than the traditional route of providing a vendor with a complete idea of what a product will be, we bring the manufacturer into the design process," Wolfond says. "The changes we make once a producer is involved lead to some of the best ideas we encounter."

The launch of Good Thing represents the combined effort of several young NYC designers, artists and vendors, whose work makes up the debut collection, including Sam Anderson, Elliot Camarra, Jon Lucas, Jamie Wolfond, Benjamin Kicic, and Guy Kozak. The entire collection will show for the first time at NY Now's Accent on Design from August 16th - 20th. Good Thing will be at booth #3849.
