On June 2, Huawei released a variety of new products equipped with HarmonyOS 2.

In this Harmony conference held by Huawei, most of the time they promoted its IoT ecosystem; at present, most of their partners belong to the field of IoT and smart home.

On the Harmony 2.0 system, Huawei introduced the concept of "Super Terminal". Based on the distributed capabilities of Harmony OS 2.0, multiple devices can form a "Super Terminal", and their capabilities can also be shared.

As a new generation of intelligent terminal operating system facing the era of Internet of Everything, HarmonyOS provides a unified language for the intelligence, interconnection and collaboration of different devices. Through distributed technology, it allows mobile phones, tablets, watches, smart screens and other smart devices to connect and break the boundaries between different hardware truly realize the unbounded communication between people and devices, and between devices and devices, bringing the digital world to everyone, every family, and every organization, and building an intelligent world with all things connected.

The connection range of "Super Terminal" includes smart home products at home. As long as HarmonyOS 2 is connected, they can form a "Super Terminal". For example, if we use a Haemony mobile phone to tap the surface of the electric oven and refrigerator connected to Harmnoy, a large amount of information can be synchronized from the mobile phone to the home appliances. At this time, the electric oven will know what heat it needs to use and how much time it takes. To bake food, the refrigerator can also adjust the freezing effect to what we want.

In order to accelerate the development of Harmony ecology, Huawei is cooperating with more hardware manufacturers.

According to the data provided by Huawei, they have cooperated with more than 1,000 hardware manufacturers, and more than 300 application and service providers have participated in the construction of the Harmony ecosystem. 

Midea is the fastest one among them. Before Huawei's mobile phones were equipped with the Harmony system, it was the first to release a number of home appliances that support Harmony. According to Jiang Xu, Vice President and CTO of Midea's IoT, Midea's IoT will continue to deepen its cooperation with Harmony system this year, and achieve the coverage of nearly 200 products in all categories. Millions of Midea products equipped with Harmony system will be marketed and realized. The whole link from hardware to software is opened up.

In addition, Huawei is also cooperating with a number of real estate companies to introduce Huawei' s whole-house smart solution equipped with the Harmony system into the home improvement market. It is understood that Huawei' s whole house smart solution is a systematic solution that includes “1+2+N”, that is, 1 smart host (whole house AI) and 2 networks (whole house PLC control bus), whole house Wi-Fi 6+), N system intelligent collaboration (lighting intelligent control system, safety protection system, environmental intelligent control system, water intelligent control system, audio-visual entertainment system, sleep assistance system, intelligent home appliance system, sunshade intelligent control system, etc.). Huawei’s whole-house smart solution has two pre-launch packages with 3 bedrooms and 2 halls (approximately 100 square meters) and 5 bedrooms and 2 halls (approximately 200 square meters). The prices are respectively 99999 yuan and 149999 yuan. By the end of August, these two packages will also be covered in 50 Huawei whole-house smart experience stores in 50 cities across the country.

For Huawei, although it started late on the smart home track, through the underlying Harmony OS operating system to the HiLink open connection agreement, it has developed rapidly on the smart home track. According to data from AVC Network, Huawei has ranked first in the smart home market. In 2020, the smart home system share of the refined decoration market is ranked second with 9%.

After smart phones, smart home is a new track that Huawei attaches the most importance to. Relying on its strong brand advantages and user scale, it builds an ecosystem. As of December 31, 2020, Huawei’s smart selection ecosystem based on Huawei’s HiLink agreement will be used. It has been supported by more than 600 mainstream home appliance brands around the world, covering more than 3,000 products, and has accumulated more than 50 million users. In the future, these numbers will obviously get bigger and bigger.
