China: Foreign trade enterprises profit from lowering port charges by the end of 2020

Promote home furnishing foreign trade enterprises to reduce pressure and survive the epidemic.

On June 29, according to the official website of the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Communications and the National Development and Reform Commission issued the “Notice on Relevant Matters Regarding the Continuation of Phased Port Charge Reduction Standards”, which clearly extended the policy of phased port charge reduction to December 31, 2020. Before the end of the year, the two port operating service charges for cargo charges and port facility security charges set by the government will be reduced by 20% respectively; mandatory emergency response services and charges for non-tanker cargo ships will be cancelled. This move will reduce the operating costs of enterprises, promote home furnishing foreign trade enterprises to reduce pressure, and survive the epidemic.
