Aging Has Been Aggravated in China and Furniture for the Old Has Still Lacked the Market Attention
Aging has been aggravated in china and furniture for the old has still lacked the market attention.
According to the data of National Bureau of Statistics, the population above 65 years old in China has accounted for 17.3%, and there have been 240,000,000 aging people; in addition, nearly 6,000,000 aging people have been increased every year averagely, and the annual average increase rate has exceeded the annual average increase speed of the total population.
The groups of the old in China have continuously expanded but it is difficult to find the home furnishing products developed and designed for the old in the home furnishing stores.
Currently, the furniture for the old with a large proportion has been mainly concentrated in the developed countries such as Japan, Germany and Canada; however, China has still been in the stage of the developing countries, and most of the Chinese consumers have still no enough payment willing and capacity for the furniture for the old due to the consumption level as well as the old people’s consumption habits.
“No enterprise in Shenzhen has been really engaged in producing the furniture for the old,” said by Guan Yongkang, dean of Shenzhen Furniture Association Residential Refined Decoration Research and Development Institute. Even if in the most modern first-tier cities in China, the furniture enterprises having strength have not been involved in the furniture for the old.
