High-end furniture maker Theodore Alexander names new CEO

High-end furniture & case good manufacturer Theodore Alexander has named Doris Phua as its new CEO. Phua replaces Harvey Dondero, who has been leading the company since 2007.
Phua has more than 30 years of luxury furnture industry experience. She was most recently CEO of the Da Vinci Group, where she specialized in the retail of high-end furniture in Asia alongside her husband, Tony Phua, the co-founder of Da Vinci Holdings. Key markets have included China, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia as well as Brunei and Italy.
Phua was named the 2001 Woman Entrepreneur of the Year by the Singapore Small and Medium Enterprise 50 Awards and was named the Montblanc Businesswoman of the Year in 2002. She also was honored with a doctorate title from Honolulu University.
“This appointment is a fantastic opportunity for Theodore Alexander,” the company's Board of Directors said in a statement. “Dr. Phua has a proven track record of successful leadership and we look forward to her vision for the growth of Theodore Alexander.”
In January 2017, Theodore Alexander was acquired by Creative Home Furniture Co., an Asian investment firm.
