According to reports, Broad River Retail, one of the largest licensors of Ashley HomeStore, has announced plans to add two new distribution centers, one of which is permanently bought and the other is temporarily leased.

The temporarily leased center will be located in Fort Mill, South Carolina, next to Charlotte, near the Broad River office.

"This 30,000 square foot (approximately 2,787 square meter) center will be able to store products worth approximately $750,000," said Charlie Malouf, president and CEO of Broad River Retail. "This is to ease the pressure on our two original distribution centers, and they will be put into use next week or so."

According to Malouf, the permanently acquired center, called Spartan Ridge, will be located in Spartanburg, South Carolina, covering an area of 81,000 square feet (approximately 7,525 square meters) and will be able to provide services to the western part of the state.

"We have been adding new stores in the area, including remodeling and relocating stores," Malouf said. "With our rapid growth, this new distribution center will shorten the distance between us and our customers and shorten delivery times. The new facility will accommodate $3 million worth of inventory and will include 1,000 square feet of office space."

Malouf said the distribution center should be put into use in the first quarter of 2022. Currently, the company has two other distribution centers in operation. The new facility will enable Broad River to continue to grow and expand, eventually being able to deliver up to $8 million in products per week.

Broad River Retail currently operates 23 Ashley HomeStores and 3 Ashley HomeStore Outlets in the southeastern United States.
