IKEA spends 750 million US dollars to build India's first IKEA shopping mall

The shopping center is located in the Indian city of Delhi.

Recently, IKEA announced that it will spend 750 million US dollars to build the first IKEA shopping mall in India. In December of the previous year, IKEA's second store in India also officially opened in Mumbai.


Prior to this, IKEA has already auctioned a piece of land covering an area of 48,000 square meters on the outskirts of Delhi, the old capital of the country. The plot will be mainly used for the construction of IKEA shopping malls, including an IKEA furniture store.

According to the plan, the total investment for this project is approximately US$750 million. "This project will not only create more jobs for Delhi, but it will also better serve the community and improve consumers' shopping experience at IKEA." An IKEA senior person in charge in India interviewed said, “The establishment of a new IKEA shopping store and IKEA shopping in Delhi, India will better help us achieve our current short-term goal in India: the number of IKEA visitors in India exceeds 100 million.”
