U.S. furniture retail store sales fell 66% year-on-year in April

Down 16.4% from March

According to the National Retail Monthly Report released by the US Department of Commerce on May 15, US retail sales in April fell 16.4% month-on-month from March, the largest decline since 1992. Compared with the same period last year, retail sales fell by 21.6% year-on-year. Among them, in April, the number of furniture and household goods stores still operating in the United States decreased by two-thirds. The April retail sales of furniture and household goods stores were US$3.3 billion, a decrease of 59% month-on-month and 66.5% year-on-year.
