Chinese company UE Furniture plans to open a manufacturing base in central-western Romania, the local municipality of Deva said on Monday.
BUCHAREST (Romania), July 15 (SeeNews) - Chinese company UE Furniture plans to open a manufacturing base in central-western Romania, the local municipality of Deva said on Monday.
The 40,000 sq m plant will produce office chairs and sofas for the European market, Deva municipality said in a press release.
Production is expected to start in the first part of 2021.
Representatives of Deva started negotiations about the construction of the new plant with the Chinese investor in May 2018.
In February 2019, UE Furniture said it plans to invest $ 9.5 million (8.4 million euro) in a production base in Romania.
EU Furniture was founded in China in 2001 and mainly makes office chair and massage chair, sofa and functional chair fittings. It is listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's main board since January 2015, according to data published on the company's website. The company's products are marketed in over 60 countries and regions.
