Stellar Works, a Shanghai-based design brand, has collaborated with OEO Studio in Copenhagen to design the first series of lamps: Hotaru.

OEO Studio is good at design of analogical extensions from life experiences and ritual occasions. Whether the playing of records on an old-fashioned record player or the moment of pressing the shutter with a camera, both can inspire them.

Such design thinking is also reflected in the Hotaru series. In Japanese, Hotaru was originally meant to be a firefly. The design spirit behind its series is full of interesting symbolic metaphors and meticulous carving. It is a delicate combination of form and function.
