Bangladesh's Furniture Exports Increased by more than 40% in the First Half of 2018-2019

Furniture will become a major export earning product in Bangladesh.

According to the latest statistics of the Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), in the first half of the 2018-19 fiscal year (July-December 2018), Bangladesh's Furniture exports increased significantly to US$33.72 million, up 40.56% from US$32.99 million in the same period last fiscal year.

 

According to industry insiders, in recent years, Bangladesh's furniture quality and design level have been continuously improved. Currently, it has been exported to the Middle East, the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan, Australia, India, Russia and some countries in Southeast Asia, and continues to open up new markets, calling on the government to reduce some of the raw material tariffs to promote the development of the furniture industry.
