Lumi is a Chinese intelligent home and IoT solution provider, and it was founded in 2009 and joined Xiaomi ecological chain in 2014. The company released the first product – “Xiaomi Intelligent Family Set” in 2015. Later, Lumi continued to incrementally release more than ten products including the intelligent socket, intelligent wall switch, air conditioning partner and intelligent curtain motor around “Xiaomi Intelligent Family Set” so as to be able to realize the interconnection with other Xiaomi ecological chain products and focus on the selling points including low power consumption, high stability and high cost performance. According to the official information, the company realized the large-scale profit from 2016.
In August this year, Lumi launched Aqara gateway supporting the Apple “family” app in Chinese Mainland, which 14 kinds of Aqara sub-devices passing HomeKit certification could access; currently, it has been sold in China, and within 2018, it will come into the market for sale in North America. It can access HomePod.
Lumi expressed that in the future three years, North America and Europe would be one of the focuses for Lumi to develop the overseas market and that Lumi would take the online e-commerce platform Amazon as the entrance and would conduct a series of cooperation with Apple, the large-scale supermarkets and agents offline in the overseas market at the same time. The Chinese companies are expected to enter the international market through the intelligent home.
