March 14-16 Intertextile event drew 20,780 visitors from 68 countries.
The spring edition of the Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles show experienced a 12% increase in attendance, according to a show report issued this week.
Held at the National Exhibition Center in Shanghai, the March 14-16 event drew about 20,870 visitors from 68 countries, up from 18,596 visitors last year.
The show, which is organized by Messe Frankfurt HK Ltd., the Sub-Council of the Textile Industry and the China Home Textile Assn., featured 232 exhibitors from 11 countries and regions. This is up from 204 exhibitors from eight countries and regions last year. They showed a mix of home textile products such as bedding, towels, table and kitchen linens, which were among several key categories at the show.
“Thanks to the revitalized market conditions in China and the increased number of buyers, our exhibitors have had a successful show,” said Wendy Wen, senior general manager of Messe Frankfurt HK Ltd. “Not only did they receive onsite orders and make contact with new clients, but they also valued Intertextile Shanghai as a channel to build up their brand so as to expand their business network in China.
Apart from the stronger Chinese market, another reason for the buyer increase this year was the large growth of the four concurrent fairs. This resulted in a more diverse buyer profile with increased demand from different textile industry sectors.”
