Home products made significant waves during Amazon.com’s Prime Day, which occurred July 12.
Among the top sellers cited by the online marketplace in a statement about the day’s results were the Instant Pot 7-in-1 Multi-Functional Pressure Cooker, Double Hammocks by Vivere and the iRobot Roomba 614 Vacuum Cleaning Robot. Amazon Prime members throughout the world bought 215,000 Instant Pot Pressure Cookers, 24,000 Double Hammocks and 23,000 Roomba 614s, the statement said.
Prime Day is Amazon’s one-day shopping event for its Prime users. During last year’s Prime Day, the top-selling home products were the Rubbermaid 42-Piece Easy Find Lid Food Storage Set (28,000), the Instant Pot 7-in-1 Programmable Pressure Cooker (24,000) and the iRobot Roomba 595 Pet Vacuum Cleaning Robot (14,000).
Total customer orders for this year’s Prime Day, the second annual occurrence of this event, exceeded orders made during last year’s Prime Day by more than 60 percent worldwide and more than 50 percent in the United States, Amazon’s statement said. In addition, Prime members globally saved more than double on deals over Prime Day 2015.
“Prime itself is the best deal in the history of shopping, and Prime Day was created as a special benefit exclusively for our Prime members,” said Greg Greeley, vice president of Amazon Prime. Greeley described this year’s Prime Day as “the biggest day in the history of Amazon. After yesterday’s results, we’ll definitely be doing this again.”
