The nation's third largest cabinetmaker is especially seeking multiple manufacturing engineers for its operations around the U.S.. "Relocation and bonus potential" are highlighted in a Wall St. Journal classified ad May 21, to fill "manufacturing engineer vacancies," with the company noting it "is a fully integrated, Just in Time cabinet manufacturer," and that it also a "distributor of kitchen and bath cabinets for the remodeling and new home construction markets. Two openings in Monticello, Kentucky appear at its website; and three in Winchester, Virginia.
American Woodmark operates nine manufacturing facilities in Arizona, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia, as well as nine builder centers centers across the country.
Separately, American Woodmark (NASDAQ: AMWD) said William Brandt has declined to seek re-election to its board at the next annual shareholders meeting.
Brandt has been a key player in the transformation of American Woodmark. He was one of four partners that purchased the cabinet division of Boise Cascade in May 1980, forming American Woodmark Corporation. He previously served as the Company's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from 1980 to 1996 and as Chairman until 2004. Since his retirement from active management in 1996, Brandt has continued on the board.
"It has been an honor for me to have served as a board member of American Woodmark since our inception in 1980," Brandt said. " I am extremely pleased with the evolution of the Company, not only in terms of our strategic posture, but more importantly relative to the culture and value system under which it operates."
