The American Home Furnishings Alliance (AHFA) recently announced that it will hold its 2016 Regulatory Summit Thursday, September 15, at the Hickory Metro Convention Center, Hickory, N.C. An update on new Proposition 65 labeling requirements, legal issues with formaldehyde emissions and new product safety and liability concerns will be addressed during the all-day forum.

The event is sponsored by AHFA’s Solution Partners division and will be preceded by the 2016 Solution Partners Education Golf Tournament Wednesday, September 14, at Lake Hickory Country Club in Hickory.

The September program also will include a session and panel discussion on “green chemistry.” Meredith Williams, deputy director of the California Department of Toxic Substances Control, is confirmed as a presenter on the topic. She has expertise in research and development, product management and operation for Fortune 500 technology, consumer product and chemical companies.

In addition, a panel of experts will address the growing interest in fluorocarbons and antimicrobials used in residential performance fabrics.

The Summit will bring together top regulatory officials, scientific experts and industry leaders for the premier regulatory compliance conference in the industry. It is open to all manufacturers, distributors, suppliers and retailers whose regulatory compliance efforts rely on accurate, up-to-date guidance and authoritative answers to industry-specific questions.

Additional confirmed speakers include Todd Sax, director of enforcement for California’s Air Resources Board; Amy Lalley, Prop 65 expert at the Los Angeles firm of Sidley Austin LLP; William F. Tarantino, partner with San Francisco-based Morrison & Foerster; and Len Morrissey, director of Technical Committee Operations at ASTM International.
