HIGH POINT — Youth and baby furniture resource Smartstuff has launched a social media contest aimed at engaging consumers shopping for product at brick-and-mortar locations that carry the brand.
The contest, #shareandwin, is a year-long promotion that encourages consumers to post images of some of their favorite Smartstuff products or vignettes at retail. They then can post it to Instagram or Twitter, mentioning @smartstuff4kids, the name of the retailer and the hashtag #shareandwin.
Smartstuff will give away a piece of furniture to a winner of the contest each month between March and Dec. 31, 2016.
This latest promotion is part of the brand’s long-term commitment to supporting brick and mortar retailers that carry the line, which includes cribs and youth bedroom furniture.
“We’re committed to engaging the consumer and driving her to our retailers,” said Neil MacKenzie, Smartstuff marketing director. “Social media is a big part of this effort.”
The contest occurs as Smartstuff has increased its own visibility through social media. Over the past year, the company said, its number of Instagram followers has risen more than 150% and its number of Facebook likes are up more than 250%.
To promote the contest in each store, retailers have been provided hangtags with the #shareandwin hashtag.
“It’s a good icebreaker between the retail sales associate and consumer, and it helps support the retailer after the consumer has left the store.” MacKenzie added.
